Most property developers in Hong Kong do not damn care about managing and monitoring building projects, resulting in design shortcomings and building defects. I bet that they don't even take a damn look inside the flats (except show flats) during the building stage of project. The verification stage is probably non-existent. They prefer to let property owners spot out defects and complain, rather than fixing even the most eye-catching issues. They bet that some owners will accept the defects and therefore the overall costs for fixing them can be reduced. Actually, these stupid developers just put their reputation at risk. (Buyers are even more stupid, right?)
If they manage and monitor building projects better, I am sure that property developers can gain reputation, save compensational costs and eventually resulting in better gross margin.
